According to Mark Gurman’s statements, Apple is preparing to make some innovations related to its voice assistant. As part of these preparations, Siri’s functionality will be increased so that it is triggered directly when addressed by its name. Thus, instead of the phrase “Hey Siri” to reach Siri, it will be sufficient to say ‘Siri‘.
Siri has been serving Apple users for years since the introduction of iOS 5. It is actively used in all of the iOS, MacOS, watchOS, and tvOS operating systems. Apple, which has been modernizing its virtual assistant used in its devices for years, is working on new features for Siri to be much more useful.
In Gurman’s statement, there are many details about the new version. Among these details, it is also stated that with the removal of the command, the new version will work more compatibly with third-party applications compared to the version currently in use. Unfortunately, we do not currently know when we will be able to benefit from the innovations, but it is one of the predictions that it will be introduced with iOS 17.
